Salzburg

Took the train to Salzburg and arrived to another heat wave. We were starving so we went to the Spar to order a schnitzel. Turns out they were out so we asked for the cooked meat next to it. We ended up walking out with a hamburger in a bun type deal which was super delicious. But we can't replicate it because we don't know what it was. And that is our only sad story from Salzburg.

Our first day here we just wandered around and checked out the sites. On our second day we did a Sound of Music bike tour which was amazing!! We cycled around to all the places I've only seen in the movie, singing Do Re Mi, or I Have Confidence like giant dorks. We sang Eldeweiss outside of the theatre the Von Trapps escaped from (to applause I might add) and went inside the abbey where Maria was sent out from. A ridiculously geeky fun day. And I have sunburnt feet to prove it. We are ending our day after a sparse leftovers dinner (everything in Austria closes on Sundays have you heard?) partway up a mountain above the city, listening to the birds sing. I think Maria would approve.
