My new favourite breakfast

Want to know my favourite thing in the world? Have you guessed it? No? Really? Don't you know me at all?? It's...

PEANUT BUTTER. Duh. Y'all knew that. And guess how common pb is in the UK? Not. At. All. So  it's exorbitantly expensive, four quid for itty bitty little jars. And peanuts are expensive too. So unless I want to be a happy, peanut-butter homeless fiend I had to find an alternative. And I stumbled across this recipe:

http://www.miss-thrifty.co.uk/2013/01/19/honey-nut-granola-recipe/

I love this blog, it makes me feel good about being thrifty. And this is one of those recipes where the results stayed in the house for less than 24 hours. And I made a lot. I didn't take any pictures, but believe me. It was DELICIOUS. The granola stands up to the milk. And it's subtlety honey-esque. Anyway. I made masses of it the next day and here's the pictures to prove it.

I made two batches the second time, this is the second batch with just roasted almonds because I ran out of other nuts. I can't decide if I like having twice roasted almonds in the granola. It was good in the first batch not roasted but in my opinion just as tasty roasted. So it's really whether you're up to extra work or not.

I checked on the trays probably every twenty minutes just to give them a stir and they always smelt AMAZING.

This is them that night in my parent's lovely fluorescent lit kitchen. The digestive cookies are also obviously breakfast food. It's really why we all weigh 500 lbs. So this is my new love. Until I get back to Canada where pb is cheap and lovely. Or maybe this fling will become permanent. Who knows...
